The typical solar electric system in Camarillo

The typical solar electric system in Camarillo is composed of solar panels installed on the roof and an inverter that converts the electricity generated by the sun into electricity that can be used by the appliances in the home. When the solar panels generate more electricity than the home can use, the electricity is “sold” to the electric utility company in the form of a credit, that is, your electric meter actually spins backwards. In the evening, when the solar panels are not generating electricity, you receive power from the electric utility and “buy back” the current that was generated during the day. This process is called net-metering. Since your utility company will not buy any excess electricity over a 12 month period, the ideal solar electric system will generate about 95% of your electrical needs.

For those concerned with power outages or who have life support equipment, a battery backup is added to the solar power system to insure an adequate emergency supply of electricity at all times.

There are several reasons to go solar. First of all, the technology has advanced dramatically in recent years. Then you will discover that the price is comparable to a bathroom upgrade. The monthly savings, especially for people who use air conditioning, will easily justify the investment.

We went into the solar electric business because we realized it was time to act, not just talk, about making a difference in the environment and we all need to take responsibility for the planet that we will leave our children and their children.

If you have your last 12 months of electric bills, let us know the total kilowatt usage for the year. If you don’t have these bills, let us know and we will contact your utility company and request that information on your behalf. Your average monthly usage for electricity over the past twelve months helps us determine the size of the system. We then factor your budget requirements against the savings that you would receive. We survey your home or business and determine placement and any structural considerations for installation and then we make a system recommendation.
