Solar Power Incentives for a cleaner energy future

As part of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's Million Solar Roofs Program, California has set a goal to create 3,000 megawatts of new, solar-produced electricity by 2017 - moving the state toward a cleaner energy future and helping lower the cost of solar systems for consumers. Southern California Edison has authorization to provide $116 million in incentives for this program in 2007.

What that means to you is that a rebate of up to $2.50 per watt of solar power generated by your system is paid by the utility company. We will deduct this amount from the final sale price of your system and request the payment made to Solar Choice Solutions Inc. after the installation and hookup to the power company. In addition to this rebate, the federal government provides a tax credit of 30% of the purchase price up to $2,000 for residential installations and no maximum for commercial installations. For commercial installations, the remaining cost is depreciated using a 5 year accelerated depreciation schedule (see your tax advisor for details).
